Sustainable Food Policy Board Presentation

Aligned with this board concerns about the need to improve the availability of fresh, nutritious, locally and sustainably grown food at reasonable prices for all residents, particularly those in need,they provide us a chance to present the Green Barter Program and explore possibilities to replicate this program in Austin at their coming meeting on April 25, at Austin's City Hall sometime between their regular 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m agenda.

Austin Zero Waste Alliance (AZWA) Presentation

AZWA is part of the CTZWA which is committed to the realization of a sustainable Zero Waste (or darn close) economy in Central Texas before 2040.

Our program Green Barter Trueque Verde was included in the Solid Waste Services, Zero Waste Master Plan meeting and draft as on of the potential initiatives to be considered within the programs to be implemented to reach the Zero Waste goals for the City of Austin.

AZWA will provide us the chance to present the Green Barter/Trueque Verde program to their members and attendees at 8PM after their April Monthly meeting this April 13 at Caza de Luz (1701 Toomey Road. Austin, TX 78704).

Permaculture's Winter Series Presentation

Developed and developing nations are being challenged more than ever to provide a good quality of life for their inhabitants while coping with population growth.

Curitiba, the most environmentally friendly city in Brazil, is flourishing by meeting these needs. Through embracing sustainable development, it has become an important reference among these communities in terms of planning, public policies, and successful strategy implementation towards environmental sustainability.

Join us for an evening where we will share how Curitiba got there and we will explore potential opportunities and application to other cities like Austin. An specific focus will be given to ways to keeping cities clean through sustainable waste management and the Trueque Verde/ Green Barter Program will be briefly presented at the end.
